Villaruel's works present a luminous quality that seems to reach out to the audience to touch. And touch they may for they stir dim memories of long forgotten dreams and unwanted recollections of the past. Quiet but verbose, his paintings seem to call out, much like fireflies are drawn to an enigmatic light.

Alfred Villaruel graduated from the UP College of Fine Arts with a degree in Painting in 1998 and is curently active in the arts scene.
