Fernando Modesto manifests his penchant for the irrepressibly enigmatic by way of seemingly whimsical paintings of pastels and color fields. Hence, this may be glimpsed as the harbinger of the show with its apparent symbolism either signifying a realization of a new found faith or renewed devotion to a practice. Fernando Modesto has finished his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at the University of Sto . Tomas and went on further studies at Central St. Martin’s School of Art and Design in London on a grant by the British Council. He has also been awarded the 13 Artists Award by the Cultural Center of the Philippines and has won prizes for printmaking by the Art Association of the Philippines and for UNESCO. His works have been exhibited extensively internationally since the 1970s. He’s currently based in Jakarta , Indonesia .
