Seduction of Images
Mag:net Gallery Paseo

On March 7 Poch Naval will be opening his exhibit entitled Seduction of Images at Mag:net Gallery Paseo. To be featured in this show are abstract works invoking “remote and direct references to the conquista and Magellan as a form of engkanto or a seducer who uses images to influence events.”   Though many of the works are reminiscent of Tapies, Motherwell’s and Klee’s, Naval insists that they are but influences which guides the way he paints, paralleling what he terms as “ man as an empty bottle needing to be filled, being haplessly influenced by images” yet they are filtered by the option to choose what’s intrinsic to their being to be able to create for one’s own.   The exhibit will run until March 28, 2006 .   Mag:net Gallery Paseo is at the Paseo Center .
