Campusition Nights Launched at Mag:net Café Katipunan

Mag:net Café is pleased to announce the launching of its Campusition Nights on Saturday, 3 December at 9PM at its Katipunan venue. Conceived to encourage creativity and originality among young and upcoming musicians, the Campusition Nights will showcase bands and solo musicians from different universities and colleges that compose original music. Eventually, the Campusition Nights will be held every Saturday starting January 2006 except during exam weeks.

Musicians featured at the December 3 launching are: Makopa, a predominatly acid jazz band from UP (Jason Asistores-keyboards, Ime Bala-an-bass, Nika Espinosa-vocals, Alay, Magno-drums, RB Pineda-guitar, Lynn Ramos-guitar); Wake up your seatmate, an all-girl hip-hop-pop-rock alternative band from Ateneo, La Salle and Asumption (Mia Tengco-vocals and guitar, Celine Pineda-guitar, Patty Peralte-bass, Atchoo Ilagan- drums); Apologia an alternative rock band from the Univesity of Asia and the Pacific (Matet Rabena-vocals and guitar, Jet Heradurra-drums, Bitoy Milan-guitar, Brian Heradurra-bass) and Pow Martinez, the experimental musical sensation from Kalayaan College.

Campusition Nights will now be a regular component  of Mag:net Café programming among others: Quark Henares’ “Screaming Room” an Indie
Filmshowing Night (1st Monday of the month), Poetry Night (2rd Monday of
the month), Sabaw: Experimental Music Night (3rd Monday of the month),
Stand up Comedy Night (4th Monday of the month), Lee’s Nights (Tuesdays), Jazz Nights (Wednesdays). It’s hardly been a year since it opened, Mag:net Café along Katipunan Road in Quezon City has already become a hub for artists and students and anyone else leaning towards an experimental, alternative café-bar scene. It’s casual, laidback ambiance attracts the bohemian soul and the creative. Changing exhibitions are also held at Mag:net Café’s 3 alternative space venues namely: The Backroom, The Poets’ Alcove and the newly launched CR Gallery.
